Spamwize has developed three unique and proprietary technologies to keep spam out of your inbox while letting the emails you want to receive come through.


1. Challenge/Response Verification System

Spamwize uses a sophisticated yet ingeniously simple filtering technology (similar to caller-id on telephones) to block out spam emails that you do not want to see.

Email from people you know is delivered directly to your inbox; all other email is quarantined, awaiting further review or automatic deletion.


Kylie signs up to Spamwize. She changes a few settings in her favorite email program (as instructed by spamwize) and from that point on she is protected.
Michael, an old school friend of Kylie's, sends Kylie an email.
Because Michael is not recognized as a sender, Spamwize quarantines his email and sends him back a reply asking him to verify himself.
Michael reads the reply and verifies himself as instructed in the email.
Michael is added to Kylie list of friends, and his initial email is un-quarantined and sent though to Kylie.   All future emails from Michael to Kylie will be sent straight through.


Does Michael have to repeat this process each time ?
No, Michael only has to complete the verification process once, and then his email address will be added to Kylies list of friends.

What does Michael have to do to verify himself?
To verify himself, Michael has to look at an image and type in the correct answer to the question shown with the image. This step cannot be completed by a computer because it relies on visual interpretation.

What happens to Spam
Spam that is sent to Kylie is quarantined by Spamwize awaiting a successful verification. Because this verification will never occur, the spam is held in quarantine for a period of time and then deleted automatically for Kylie. This Spam will never reach Kylie's inbox.

Can i view spam that is in quarantine?
Yes, you can view all emails that are held in quarantine. If you see an email you would like to receive, you can simply click a button and that message will come through to your inbox.

What if I want to get automated email (such as a newsletter) which cannot verify itself?
Spamwize has developed a unique system described below for just that purpose!




2. Automatic Whitelisting of Friends

Spamwize has developed a proprietary system which allows anyone you send an email to, to be automatically added to your list of friends. This means that people your write to will not have to go through the process of verifying themselves.

Kylie signs up to Spamwize. She changes a few settings in her favorite email program (as instructed by spamwize) and from that point on she is protected.
Kylie writes an email to Michael.
Michael replies to Kylies email.
Instead of being quarantined, Michaels email is delivered directly to Kylie and he is is automatically added to her list of friends.


If Michael sends Kylie an email, will he have to verify himself again?
No. Once Michael is on Kylies list of friends, his email will go straight through to her inbox from that point on.

Does Michael have to do any kind of verification?
No, Michael just replies to Kylies mail like normal. He will have no idea she is even using Spamwize because he is automatically added to her list of friends.




3. Unlimited disposable personal email addresses

One of Spamwize's biggest features is the disposable personal email address that you get when you become a Spamwize member.

Disposable personal email addresses are useful when you want to give out an email address that will not get blocked by Spamwize, or you simply do not wish to give out your real email address. They are also an excellent way to track who is mailing you. Best of all, they are unlimited !

Disposable addresses are most commonly used :

1. When entering an email address into any website.
2. When giving an email address to friends or business colleagues
3. When giving your email address to anyone you don't trust.


Kylie signs up to Spamwize. She changes a few settings in her favorite email program (as instructed by spamwize) and from that point on she is protected.

The Spamwize username she has chosen is "kylie74".
Spamwize allocates Kylie the disposable address
*@kylie74.spamwize.com
When Kylie wants to use this address, she simply replaces the "*" with a word of her choice at the time.   All email to anything@kylie74.spamwize.com will be delivered directly to Kylies Inbox.
Kylie signs up for a newsletter about sports and fitness on the internet. She submits the email address sportsandfitness@kylie74.spamwize.com
Kylie is filling out a competition entry form at her local shopping center. She gives them the email address holidaycomp@kylie74.spamwize.com
Kylie is creating a newsletter for her local neighborhood watch area. She gives out the address nhw@kylie74.spamwize.com
The local shopping center has started to send Kylie lots of emails that Kylie does not want.   Kylie blacklists holidaycomp@kylie74.spamwize.com and all future emails are discarded.

As you can see, the possibilities are unlimited.


Do emails that people send to the disposable email address come to Kylie?
Yes - all of these emails come directly to Kylie

Does anyone that writes to one of Kylie's disposable addresses have to 'verify' themselves?
No! Emails sent to Kylie's disposable addresses are not subject to verification and come straight through.
That's what makes them great for use on mailing lists and other automated services.

Can I block one of my disposable email addresses?
Yes! You can easily blacklist one of your disposable email addresses so that all future mail will be rejected from that source.
